Kim Korinek, PhD, Professor of Sociology and Criminology, receives University of Utah's
2025 Superior Research Award!
Dr. Korinek's primary research investigates (1) aging and health in contexts of armed conflict, disaster, and migration; (2) social, demographic, and health consequences of migration; and (3) family and community change in contexts of demographic and market transition. In each of these areas, she has established a very successful and sustained research record.
Additionally, she has been awarded several significant grants, in support of her innovative research proposals. Dr. Korinek consistently publishes high-quality articles in major journals. Her exceptional scholarship has contributed to professional recognition among her peers, especially given how she has distinguished herself for gathering and using unique data on distinct parts of the life course.
