ASSOCIATE INSTRUCTOR, SOCIOLOGY
Bruce Rigby is an Associate Instructor in the Department of Sociology at the University of Utah. In addition to sociology classes, he teaches two criminology classes: SOC 3567 Corporations and Corruptions and SOC 3570, Gangs and Gang Violence in America. This class was created by Bruce Rigby with the assistance of the Unified Police of Greater Salt Lake, The Salt Lake Area Metro Gang Unit, Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Choose Gang Free Program for Youth, The U.S. Marshall's Service, and other agencies working in the prevention, intervention, and suppression of gang activity in our area. In addition to Bruce’s academic and scholarly interest/research in gangs and gang activity, he has completed over 160 hours of law enforcement supervised training in all areas related to prevention, intervention, and suppression of gang activity locally and nationally.
